The English Reformation: A religious revolution
Historian: Toni Mount
Units: 5
Price: $25
This five-unit course examines the Reformation of the Church in England, beginning during the reign of King Henry VIII in the 1520s and continuing to influence events well into the seventeenth century and beyond. The differing attitudes to religion were one of the main causes of the English Civil War of the 1640s and even, indirectly, the Troubles in Ireland of the 1970s. What began as a king's disappointment with the pope's refusal to oblige him overturned the English belief system that had been in place for centuries. In this course, we will consider how subsequent monarchs dealt with the changing situation that confronted them but, more importantly, how these religious upheavals affected the lives of the ordinary English people.

Helen Thompson September 3, 2021
very enjoyable and interesting
Louisa May 4, 2023
I enjoyed the whole course. I learned so much but I didn't know how complicated the subject is. And I was surprised about the canceling of Christmas. Well- planned course and well-written.
Sandra Warfield September 20, 2017
I have really enjoyed this course. I knew a fair amount before, but there were so many little details and case studies, it has given me real insight into the lives of medieval people.
Jen Morgan March 28, 2021
I liked this course very much and really enjoyed it. I learned so much with each lesson and got from it new information that I'd never read or heard before. My favorite lessons were"The Knight's Tale" and "The Stationer's and Printer's Tale". I didn't expect the videos at the end of some of the lessons, but they were extremely interesting,

Shannon McCarthy November 16, 2021
This course is such an eye opener into the life and times of both women and men and also the mention of children . The units are both balanced and reasoned and can be absorbed. Yes a brilliant course .
Paul Barnett November 23, 2020
This course was absolutely amazing! I have learned a lot about Richard´s predecessors and about the recent research about his so much deserved reburial. I learn things I have never heard about before, such as the Trial. It really made me consider things I have never imagined, such as What if Elizabeth of york, Henry VII´s wife have had the possibility of seeing the ´pretender´?? That really makes me doubt a lot! This history is fascinating!!
Ivana January 10, 2017
I really enjoyed this course. The Medici Family were quite an interesting lot
Teresa Brodrick March 3, 2020
I really enjoyed this course, the modules were fascinating. The audio lessons were both informative and enjoyable. I have definitely learnt a lot about the day to day lives of medieval people.
Jennifer June 7, 2017
I was not expecting the depth of detail....I really enjoyed this course- and found it through studying past courses. I just finished reading "Heroines of the Medieval World" by Sharon Bennett Connolly and would suggest this be added to the suggested reading list as many of the women discussed in this course are found in this wonderful book.
I also enjoyed, in particular, the referring back to peoples introduced at different times of this course. Well done!Deborah Harsen June 29, 2018
I found this course really informative and enjoyable, I have learnt a lot about both the Wars of the Roses and Richard III. The course had much more content then I was expecting in just ten lessons but the half hour lessons were just the right length to listen to one at a time. I look forward to taking another of the Medieval Courses!!
Jennifer April 11, 2016
i love this course about richards life
Cameron Mounde February 12, 2021
I have been a member of the Richard lll Society for many, many years and I can honestly say I loved this course which Toni has written and produced beautifully.
I hope it will encourage others to learn about Richard and his life and times. This is a fascinating period to study which has everything: battles, knights, castles, treason - sufficient to surely draw the interest of those with an interest in past.
Well done to all concerned!Janine March 22, 2016
Really enjoyed it. These modules are a nice length and well constructed.

Wendy February 12, 2016
I enjoyed the course very much, especially how each lesson built on the previous lessons. I learnt things about this time that I hadn’t heard of before. I suspected that women had to work very hard and this course confirmed that.
Alana Ask April 5, 2020
I absolutely loved it!!! Honestly it was so informative and I loved reading about the Borgias. They're a family that have always fascinated me. So! :). Another amazing course, I can't wait to do more :).
Charlotte June 30, 2017
Once again, another informative course.
Jennifer Brown March 17, 2021
I loved this course. Having read so many historical novels on Richard III, I was pleased to realise how much of them were actually true.
Sharon Penman, Jean Plaidy and Phillipa Gregory among them.Samantha July 18, 2017
How we used to live... So fascinating, especially when compared with the similarities of today. Toni Mount has produced an interesting and engaging course which I absolutely loved completing. I have learned so much! My favourite section was The Archer's Tale and I liked the video of the man who completed the pilgrimage to Canterbury from Southampton. Well done, Toni! This course is a winner!
Janine April 25, 2016
I am enjoying the course [Everyday Life] immensely!
Ann January 6, 2016
I am an amateur medievalist and ate up this course - full hog! Toni Mount presents a delightful and insightful examination of ordinary (tho truly exceptional) lives lived so many hundreds of years ago. Each person is examined as his and her stations in life are exposed and gently likened to "modern" traditions. I loved this course and want more!
Jerice March 7, 2017
I have done other courses through Medieval Courses. I enjoyed this one and felt that it was well paced and informative.
Alison Riseley November 6, 2017
It was great! I enjoyed the history of crime and punishment and especially the individual histories of criminals I've never heard of since I'm in the States. Mary Ann Cotton's case is especially interesting and sad. Interesting, too, that one of the perpetrators was shipped off to Maryland where I live. I always get so much out of these courses and this one was no exception. Thank you for the course!
Sandra Warfield November 13, 2017
Really interesting
Wendy Ahl August 20, 2018
Just wanted to say thank you for the above course. Mr Russell did a very good job presenting it. I learned a lot, even more about my favorite queen, Anne Boleyn.
Kathy October 26, 2016
I loved this course, I thought it was throughly enjoyable 🙂 thank you!
Charlotte July 27, 2017
I found it very informative and interesting ! Thank you!
Elizabeth Greco August 10, 2020
This course was delightful- very well presented and educational all the while entertaining. I was able to work on this course during my two weeks' spring break over the Easter holiday- all my "free" time- I found myself empathizing with these women of history. Laundry was being done, grocery lists being made, dinner cooking, treats baking, house being dusted and vacuumed, sheets changed...all the while my mind on the next section of this course. Truly I realized that with all the difficulties I think I have running a household (and only for my husband and I and our two himalayan kittens: Shakespeare and Paddington as our three children are grown and gone!), I cannot begin to place myself in the time line of the medieval and tudor women and the amount of work they accomplished every day- without conveniences and with much peril. Thank you for such an enlightening course. I do look forward to many more!
Deborah Harsen April 16, 2018
The readings were interesting and not too bogged down with dates to have to remember. The End I’d Lesson quizzes were fun!
Wendy Robertson May 17, 2020
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and only wish that it had been much longer. It reinforced my knowledge from the numerous books that I have read on the subject and I gleaned many new facts. I had not expected the inclusion of the 1984 Trial which I had previously dismissed due to its date (i.e. not having the facts of the most recent archaeological finds) but found it very interesting.
Anthony Cox May 10, 2018
I loved this course, but I found it the most challenging so far of the ones I've taken. There is a lot of detail in this one and a lot of names and dates. Overall, it was fun and I am going back to read and listen to all the course materials again.
Sandra March 23, 2017
I absolutely loved everything about the course. I enjoy being able to read and listen to the course material. Each module has been fascinating and with just the right amount of detail. I have loved each module so much that I shall definitely read and listen to the modules again and again. I especially enjoy doing the end of module quiz and I found the family trees extremely useful. I was surprised by the televised trial and I was totally engrossed in it. I loved the video of the poem written by the Poet Laureate. I found it beautiful, thought-provoking and moving. Thank you for a wonderful course.
Elizabeth January 10, 2017

Virginia Dane May 17, 2020
This course was very enjoyable to do, its great to learn exactly how medieval and tudor women lived and what they had to do in every day lives. Would recommend to anyone interested in the era.
Luisa Short January 18, 2021
I was absolutely mesmerized by the lesson on Anne Boleyn's coronation. It was well past time to shut the computer off but I read a paragraph and the "story" of her coronation was so real, colorful and exciting that I couldn't stop reading.
Thank you so much for such professional work that allows me to continue to learn and occasionally find myself back in 1533 as I did last night.
Sandra August 4, 2017
The course was wonderful! I learned a lot of new information. I think the course paired well with the other courses offered by Medieval Courses. I also really like the bonus material that was added.
Kimberly April 28, 2017
I loved the course thank you. This is the first one of its kind that I have experienced. It is extremely interesting and deals very clearly with what is a very complicated area of history ie. The Wars of the Roses. I still can't get a handle on that family tree!
I actually work as a volunteer at the Richard iii centre in Leicester so I have a quite good knowledge of his life and death and the dig carried out therein 2012. However, this course has really supplemented my knowledge... Thank you very much.
Carole Hignett October 6, 2021
I loved this course. I enjoyed listening to each lesson and I learned so much! It was a privilege and a pleasure to listen to the lovely and clear narration. I intend to take further courses. Thank you for all the hard work it must have taken to put this all together!

The courses are great and I hope to take as many as possible. Not having a deadline is nice and no final exams or papers to write!

I really enjoyed this course because it has taught me so many things about women from medieval and Tudor times that are so amazing!! There are so many cool stories in this course...I wonder why Hollywood hasn't made some of them into movies yet!

I enjoyed working my way through the modules and learned much. I liked the way "asides" were inserted into the text so that reading did not become a chore, more of an enjoyment. Many of my misconceptions and gaps in knowledge were corrected. Thank you.
Sally February 8, 2017

Angela Blaydon October 30, 2017
I found the detail incredibly well thought out and quite informative. These courses are such a joy to me- as a life-long student of history, I find myself more and more intrigued with each segment. Thank you for providing such a quality course!
Deborah Harsen March 26, 2018
I attended one of Toni Mount's history groups, and yet the course has still been very enjoyable and informative.
Christine January 23, 2017
I enjoyed every minute of doing the course, as a relatively recently new member of the Richard the III Society it has given me a very good basis on which I can build and learn more. I can now contribute to discussions more. It has also along with some other sources helped me finally make a decision about what I believe happened to the Princes, not that I doubted Richard's good character for a minute!
The course is well set out, clear and easy to understand. Easy to start, put down and then return to again so as it can be fitted into a busy life. I think I may well go on to do the heroes and villains course when I have the money to do so.
Caroline June 23, 2016
I have learned many facts that I did not learn from history books.
Wendy Koenigsmann September 3, 2021
Thank you so much for giving me the pleasure of doing this course. It was an extraordinary experience that enriched my love and passion for Tudor history. Thank you for giving an Argentinian as me living far far away from London the possibility of learning and construing more knowledge. In the coming days, I'm starting the Anne Boleyn course too!
Ivana January 23, 2017
I really enjoyed this course and learned a lot!
Francesca January 29, 2016
I LOVED the course! All you need is a computer and you're set. I like that you can keep the transcripts from each module. I think the parts I enjoyed the most were the examples of 'ever day' people. Instead of just focusing on royalty there were countless examples of commoners, middle class people, higher ranking people and of course royalty. Loved that!
Sarah January 5, 2016
Fascinating, thank you so much.
Wendy Ahl January 29, 2018
I absolutely loved this course - full of titbits of information I didn't know! I also appreciated the references to records and of real people - it makes all the difference when informed of something. Wonderful!
Jen Morgan September 3, 2021
I loved the course. It has tied in with other courses I've done around 'local history' (in a broad sense). I've realised that Medieval History is a particular interest of mine. I have done this course for no other reason than interest as I am retired now, but still enjoy learning.
Hazel February 22, 2023
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this course and I've learned so much. I read most of the lessons and listened to Claire for two of them. It's very hard for me to remember dates and titles and it is confusing when people are referred to by their place they are associated with instead of their names.
It's wonderful that these lessons are available at all times because a review, I'm sure, will be helpful and supplementary to my own reading and research,
I have signed up for another course since I've loved this one so much.
Sandra August 24, 2016
Very interesting and well presented.
Janet Avery October 23, 2019

Leticia Wolters February 8, 2018
I loved this course. It is easy to follow and incredibly interesting. I highly recommend this.
Jennifer Brwon March 17, 2021
I found this course extremely informative on the Reformation. I thoroughly enjoyed the lesson in the history and the reasonings for the changes that were made at different times of, and in the name of, the Bible. I had not studied this area in the past and so many of the reasons, especially the initial reason, being that of Henry's battle in attempting to obtain his divorce was new and interesting to me. Very good course, in my opinion.
Michial Schmitt September 9, 2020

Rebecca Morris August 20, 2018
I am enjoying the course as they are filling in some blanks, I did recreational history at Kentwell Hall for 30 years and am OK on the Tudor stuff but I felt I had gaps in the early stuff, so am using the course as a jump-off point, and I am having fun.
Michael September 1, 2020

Virginia August 21, 2016
Very informative and fun!
Elizabeth Donaghue April 23, 2018
This is first time taking a medieval course, it opened my eyes to the life that women led at that time, (very different from novels and movies), it was a challenge, but the effort was worth it.
Muriel May 4, 2023
I really enjoyed this course. It was easy to understand and just enough information in each unit to explore the topic and I never felt as if I was inundated with facts and dates to make it too confusing. A good gentle introduction for beginners. I recommend this course for those who are just casually interested in medieval history or as a beginning foundation for those looking to be more invested in this topic.
Amy June 20, 2016
Extremely enjoyable and informative, thank you.

Tudor Guy Everyday Life of Medieval Folk December 3, 2015
Absolutely fascinating - I have learned so much.

Although I thought this course rather brief in its materials, quite an in depth study was provided. The C of E has always intrigued me as I was raised Lutheran and not only enjoyed learning about Martin Luther but Henry VIII- particularily as he was so against Martin Luther's leaning initially. I find it fascinating how politics and religion try time and again throughout history to convince people they are "seperate" entities but are so completely intertwined and almost inseperable.
Deborah Harsen March 26, 2018
Enjoyed this course very much. Would have loved to have videos sprinkled along with the recorded lectures for more variety. But overall the course quality was excellent. Liked all the examples and stories.

Thank you very much for your email. I did indeed thoroughly enjoy my course. I found every single module fascinating and I loved the way that each queen was linked with a thought provoking theme. I found the lectures extremely enjoyable to listen to and I shall enjoy listening to them again and again.I also found it extremely helpful to have the transcript to read.

Christine February 22, 2023
I really enjoyed this course: it's the kind of history you never learnt in school - about real people and real lives. In fact, it answered many of the questions I've had in the back of my mind about what life used to be like, particularly for women during this period. I liked the 'story-telling' style, too, which was very readable, and the anecdotes and quotes from the period. Finally, having a 'quiz' at the end of each module was a nice touch: not too arduous or time-consuming! Thanks for putting together this fun, but very informative, course.

I was very pleased to see the first course from Medieval Courses, “Everyday Life of Medieval Folk”, offers a truly exhaustive and beautifully-crafted look at medieval society... “Everyday Life of Medieval Folk” brings you an extensively detailed and wonderfully diverse overview of medieval society; this is real social history with real stories about real people.
Olga December 30, 2015
I loved the course. I wasn't expecting so many personal tales about common, every day people which I thoroughly enjoyed and found helped to ground the knowledge I had learned.
Sarah January 19, 2016
Richard III has always been a particularly fascinating historical character to me: the mysteries surrounding his nephews, Richards supposed villainy at odds with his acts as a King, his heartbreaking losses of wife and child, his undying loyalty to his brother....contradictions abound! So this course, as others I have perused, only served to intrigue me further. What I would give to have that moment (or two!) with a contemporary, reliable source!
I was not expecting a decidedly pro-Ricardian stance - not that it swayed or determined any frame of mind I have or questions I have- I was expecting a more "cut and dry" formula. Was rather surprised and pleased to have personal opinion inserted into this extremely well-done and presented course!Deborah June 29, 2017
Well presented and in good detail. Another enjoyable course.
Wendy May 4, 2023
It was mentioned in a Medieval Archives podcast that I subscribe to. I am enjoying these courses quite a lot, and I was not expecting the layout of the courses to be as easily accessible as they are.

Each module is written in an easy to follow style and filled with so many wonderful tidbits of medieval daily life and the end of module quiz is a great way to test your knowledge of what your learning.
I highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in learning more about the medieval time period. I found I learned a lot more about the time period than I previously knew. Thank you, Toni.Marsha January 19, 2016

I have enjoyed the course. The lessons have been well presented and the subject matter has been very interesting. The quotes from original texts really brings history to life.
Susan Brand March 5, 2018
I found this course extremely informative on the Reformation. I thoroughly enjoyed the lesson in the history and the reasonings for the changes that were made at different times of, and in the name of, the Bible. I had not studied this area in the past and so many of the reasons, especially the initial reason, being that of Henry's battle in attempting to obtain his divorce was new and interesting to me. Very good course, in my opinion.

I actually work as a volunteer at the Richard iii centre in Leicester so I have a quite good knowledge of his life and death and the dig carried out therein 2012. However, this course has really supplemented my knowledge... Thank you very much.

I loved this course! As a lover of medieval British history, I was so excited to find a course on women! Aside from being extremely informative on the lives of women across the social scale, it was also very entertaining! I can’t wait to sign up for my next course!
Jackie Kossoff April 3, 2018
I loved the course. It has tied in with other courses I've done around 'local history' (in a broad sense). I've realised that Medieval History is a particular interest of mine. I have done this course for no other reason than interest as I am retired now, but still enjoy learning.
Hazel February 22, 2023
Thank you for letting me try out this course during your trial period. I really enjoyed all of the modules (20!) and learned a lot of things I didn't know before. Toni Mount's research is great, and Claire Ridgway's reading made learning a joy.

Teresa Brodrick March 3, 2020
I greatly enjoyed taking Everyday Life of Medieval Folk from Medieval courses. The 20 modules cover a wide range of interesting topics and detail many fascinating people and facts.
I have really enjoyed this course. I knew a fair amount before, but there were so many little details and case studies, it has given me real insight into the lives of medieval people.
Jen Morgan March 28, 2021
I am an amateur medievalist and ate up this course - full hog! Toni Mount presents a delightful and insightful examination of ordinary (tho truly exceptional) lives lived so many hundreds of years ago. Each person is examined as his and her stations in life are exposed and gently likened to "modern" traditions. I loved this course and want more!
Jerice March 7, 2017
I really enjoyed this course because it dealt with ordinary women not just royalty. The in-depth look into a woman's working day, with the heavy workload and constant responsibilities while having almost no status in the world.
Fawn Wink November 12, 2019
I really really enjoyed this course and look forward to taking more!:) This is the kind of stuff that I've ALWAYS been looking for! Just perfect
Teri October 18, 2016
I really enjoyed it. Well done.
Alan Johnson January 9, 2019
It was great! I enjoyed the history of crime and punishment and especially the individual histories of criminals I've never heard of since I'm in the States. Mary Ann Cotton's case is especially interesting and sad. Interesting, too, that one of the perpetrators was shipped off to Maryland where I live. I always get so much out of these courses and this one was no exception. Thank you for the course!
Sandra Warfield November 13, 2017
I really enjoyed learning the facts - it was well laid out that it was interesting and easy to read

Kathy October 26, 2016
The course was wonderful! I learned a lot of new information. I think the course paired well with the other courses offered by Medieval Courses. I also really like the bonus material that was added.
Kimberly April 28, 2017
How we used to live... So fascinating, especially when compared with the similarities of today. Toni Mount has produced an interesting and engaging course which I absolutely loved completing. I have learned so much! My favourite section was The Archer's Tale and I liked the video of the man who completed the pilgrimage to Canterbury from Southampton. Well done, Toni! This course is a winner!
Janine April 25, 2016
I truly enjoyed each and every unit of the Anne Boleyn course! I do hope Claire can be convinced to put together another course in the future!

Thank you very much for your email. I did indeed thoroughly enjoy my course. I found every single module fascinating and I loved the way that each queen was linked with a thought provoking theme. Angharad Yeo May 17, 2021
I loved this course, but I found it the most challenging so far of the ones I've taken. There is a lot of detail in this one and a lot of names and dates. Overall, it was fun and I am going back to read and listen to all the course materials again.
Sandra March 23, 2017
I've taken several of your courses. I did enjoy this one very much, as expected. The amount of detail for each module held my interest. Very nice to see the video of Steven Payne in The Pilgrim's Tale module! I followed his pilgrimage via social media as it happened and found it fascinating!

Wendy Ahl January 29, 2018
I found this course extremely enjoyable. It cast a new light on Richard III and dispelled some of the myths I thought were truth. I still have questions but there are just some things we can't know. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in history.
Kimberly April 18, 2017
I have been a member of the Richard lll Society for many, many years and I can honestly say I loved this course which Toni has written and produced beautifully.
I hope it will encourage others to learn about Richard and his life and times. This is a fascinating period to study which has everything: battles, knights, castles, treason - sufficient to surely draw the interest of those with an interest in past.
Well done to all concerned!Janine March 22, 2016
Well presented and in good detail. Another enjoyable course.
Wendy May 4, 2023
I loved this course. Having read so many historical novels on Richard III, I was pleased to realise how much of them were actually true.
Sharon Penman, Jean Plaidy and Phillipa Gregory among them.Samantha July 18, 2017
I love everything about these courses! I love how they are taught and proceed! Thanks so much!!
Julie March 6, 2017
I really enjoyed this course because it has taught me so many things about women from medieval and Tudor times that are so amazing!! There are so many cool stories in this course...I wonder why Hollywood hasn't made some of them into movies yet!
Thank you!! I very much enjoyed this!Teri Martin January 22, 2018
I thoroughly enjoyed the course.
Andrea June 7, 2017
Very comprehensive.
I enjoyed all the modules immensely.Samantha Bulmer October 1, 2017
Although I thought this course rather brief in its materials, quite an in depth study was provided. The C of E has always intrigued me as I was raised Lutheran and not only enjoyed learning about Martin Luther but Henry VIII- particularily as he was so against Martin Luther's leaning initially. I find it fascinating how politics and religion try time and again throughout history to convince people they are "seperate" entities but are so completely intertwined and almost inseperable.
Deborah Harsen March 26, 2018
This course was incredibly informative, it told me so much about the crime and punishment law that I did not know, it was awesome.
Charlotte July 28, 2017
Really interesting, thank you.
Wendy April 22, 2017
I found this course really informative and enjoyable, I have learnt a lot about both the Wars of the Roses and Richard III. The course had much more content then I was expecting in just ten lessons but the half hour lessons were just the right length to listen to one at a time. I look forward to taking another of the Medieval Courses!!
Jennifer April 11, 2016
I thought the course was excellent. It gave enough information, but not too much. It was thorough, interesting and I enjoyed having to answer the questions. Again, I thought the balance of the course to be perfect. Many thanks, I genuinely enjoyed it!
Virginia August 21, 2016
Once again, another informative course.
Jennifer Brown March 17, 2021
I liked this course very much and really enjoyed it. I learned so much with each lesson and got from it new information that I'd never read or heard before. My favorite lessons were"The Knight's Tale" and "The Stationer's and Printer's Tale". I didn't expect the videos at the end of some of the lessons, but they were extremely interesting,
November 24, 2016
This was an excellent class. I learned so many new things about the Medici. Ms. Morris has a superb voice and style making for a wonderful experience. Many thanks!
Stanislaus Greidus July 22, 2021
This course was very stimulating and highly interesting.
Samantha July 21, 2017
I found the detail incredibly well thought out and quite informative. These courses are such a joy to me- as a life-long student of history, I find myself more and more intrigued with each segment. Thank you for providing such a quality course!
Deborah Harsen March 26, 2018
A wonderful course full of fascinating detail. This course has brought Anne Boleyn to life for me and it has inspired me to learn more. The modules have been so enjoyable, filled with interesting facts and quotes, that I shall listen to them again and again. Thank you for a fantastic course.
Libby May 3, 2017
I enjoyed every minute of doing the course, as a relatively recently new member of the Richard the III Society it has given me a very good basis on which I can build and learn more.
I have loved this course, Richard is such a fascinating man.
Wendy May 2, 2016
I enjoyed working my way through the modules and learned much. I liked the way "asides" were inserted into the text so that reading did not become a chore, more of an enjoyment. Many of my misconceptions and gaps in knowledge were corrected. Thank you.
Sally February 8, 2017
I absolutely loved everything about the course. I enjoy being able to read and listen to the course material. Each module has been fascinating and with just the right amount of detail. I have loved each module so much that I shall definitely read and listen to the modules again and again. I especially enjoy doing the end of module quiz and I found the family trees extremely useful. I was surprised by the televised trial and I was totally engrossed in it. I loved the video of the poem written by the Poet Laureate. I found it beautiful, thought-provoking and moving. Thank you for a wonderful course.
Elizabeth January 10, 2017
I absolutely loved this course - full of titbits of information I didn't know! I also appreciated the references to records and of real people - it makes all the difference when informed of something. Wonderful!
Jen Morgan September 3, 2021
I was absolutely mesmerized by the lesson on Anne Boleyn's coronation. It was well past time to shut the computer off but I read a paragraph and the "story" of her coronation was so real, colorful and exciting that I couldn't stop reading.
Thank you so much for such professional work that allows me to continue to learn and occasionally find myself back in 1533 as I did last night.
Sandra June 19, 2017
I loved this course and it reinforced my knowledge of Richard and the war of the roses
Karen Clewes July 22, 2020
I was very pleased to see the first course from Medieval Courses, “Everyday Life of Medieval Folk”, offers a truly exhaustive and beautifully-crafted look at medieval society... “Everyday Life of Medieval Folk” brings you an extensively detailed and wonderfully diverse overview of medieval society; this is real social history with real stories about real people.
Olga December 30, 2015
Organized, factual and quite fascinating. I loved the narrator’s beautiful accent. Listened not for details but for general new information.
Virginia Dane May 17, 2020
This course was very enjoyable to do, its great to learn exactly how medieval and tudor women lived and what they had to do in every day lives. Would recommend to anyone interested in the era.

I absolutely loved this course and learned so much - I am glad we could download the transcripts as I will definitely be reading them over and over again. Am just sorry it is finished.
Wendy February 12, 2016
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and only wish that it had been much longer. It reinforced my knowledge from the numerous books that I have read on the subject and I gleaned many new facts. I had not expected the inclusion of the 1984 Trial which I had previously dismissed due to its date (i.e. not having the facts of the most recent archaeological finds) but found it very interesting.
Anthony Cox May 10, 2018
The courses are great and I hope to take as many as possible. Not having a deadline is nice and no final exams or papers to write!

Angela Blaydon October 30, 2017
I did enjoy the course, thank you!
Diana December 21, 2016
I LOVED the course! All you need is a computer and you're set. I like that you can keep the transcripts from each module. I think the parts I enjoyed the most were the examples of 'ever day' people. Instead of just focusing on royalty there were countless examples of commoners, middle class people, higher ranking people and of course royalty. Loved that!
Sarah January 5, 2016
It was mentioned in a Medieval Archives podcast that I subscribe to. I am enjoying these courses quite a lot, and I was not expecting the layout of the courses to be as easily accessible as they are.
Amy Giggar September 19, 2017
I enjoyed the course very much, especially how each lesson built on the previous lessons. I learnt things about this time that I hadn’t heard of before. I suspected that women had to work very hard and this course confirmed that.
